I have always loved skincare. I have memories of going through my Mother’s drawers in her bathroom and opening all of the jars and experiencing what was inside of them. I loved using my moms skin care products all over my little body. I loved the way that the products looked, smelled and felt. Reflecting back now that I have a young child I realize I was probably dumping them all over the floor – but my mom always supported me and she let me play with her stuff. I am not as generous when it comes to that. I still have a lot to work to do before I become an angel like my beautiful Mother. I am so grateful for her in a million different ways. As I have grown up and experienced a plethora of skincare products, I often reflect back to my appreciation of my Mom for instilling the habit of a good skin care practice. As I got older, I loved seeing what the products actually do once they are on my skin. Finding excellent products and sharing the truth with the world about the importance of good products has become one of my purpose’s on this Earth (More on this later – see My Awakening tab (link) for more if interested).
Growing up, my plan was never to do skincare. It was to be a therapist and to heal the world one person at a time. I received a MA in Spiritual Psychology from The University of Santa Monica with the intention to do another MA to attain my MFT. In the process of that program I realized that I could better serve in other capacities. I didn’t know it at the time but my sensitive nature was better suited for other avenues. I took my spiritual knowledge and kept moving forward planning to use my new tools to be a good friend which would be equally as healing for the world.
Fast forward a couple of years. My sister had an idea to take my Mom to Burke Williams for facials for her 50th birthday. (I highly recommend this idea for any woman in your life). I remember being in that facial, in the cozy soft chair and feeling how amazing facials feel and experiencing an overwhelming feeling of excitement that I could do that for my job. The knowing that I could know all about the skin and the best products to use and sit in a relaxing room and help people have amazing skin seemed like a wonderful idea. The vision began unfolding – I could open my own spa one day and eventually create a skincare line that actually worked and wasn’t toxic. I could host classes and meet incredible people. The options for what I could do with it felt infinite and my path of skincare began unfolding soon after that (for details of my journey click here).
I find myself here now in 2020 – with a new spa and a lot of ideas. I am inspired by our bodies which are absolutely incredible, remarkable, amazing machines and they have a divine wisdom within them. My intention is to start exploring the skin and the vast universe within it and to educate as many people as possible about it. So many people care about their skin but just have no idea as to what to do for it. There is a lot of information out there but it can be incredibly overwhelming. I am going to use the expertise of my friends, colleagues, and well-respected skin experts to show us the way. There is so much yet to come and I hope that you will join us. Let’s make it #Epic.
